The Program Day
We’re working with WES administrators to synchronize our activities with remote learning schedules at the school. Kids at the WYC will remain with their grade cohorts while in our program and will follow the schedule of their classmates working from home or school. We’ll have our usual fare of fun activities throughout the day and at the end of the school day.
Enrollment Process
Please call our office at 413-485-5925 if you’re interested in enrolling your child.
Our numbers will be limited by the space and staff/student ratio requirements of our licensor. With this in mind, we cannot guarantee that we will have a slot for every family wishing to enroll. In case of demand exceeding available slots, registrations will not be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Rather, we will give priority to:
- Children in households of working adults without flexible scheduling options.
- Children whose caregivers are emergency responders or other essential workers.
- Children in grades 1-4 without an older sibling available to provide childcare.
Preference will also be given to children or siblings of children who attended the WYC After School Program during the 2019-2020 academic year.
About the Fees
The ability to pay will not be a consideration in admission; as ever, the WYC will offer financial assistance and/or payment plans to families who need it. We know that the new fees are more than we have charged in the past. The increased demands of keeping our building sanitized and keeping our attendance numbers low, have forced us to raise our rates. We know that many of our families are experiencing financial hardship during this exceptional time. For this reason, we renew our commitment to keeping our programs affordable for everyone. If you need help paying these fees, please contact Mike directly at mike@williamstownyouthcenter.org
We thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we adapt our program to meet the demands of this unique environment. We know that these schedules, and fee structures, may create challenges for our families. Please do not hesitate to contact us to see how we can help.
Please call our office at 413.458.5925 or email Julia at julia@williamstownyouthcenter with any questions or concerns.
COVID-19 Protocols
The WYC has trained staff to increase sanitation practices, utilize PPE, screen students daily, promote social distancing, decrease classroom capacity, keep classrooms in consistent groups, and limit food distribution in our building. Families will have staggered pick-up and drop-off times and all children will be screened before they enter the building. Adults will not be allowed in the building.
All of the details of what we will do keep our program safe, and how we will do it, can be found in the reopening application we submitted to the state. We invite you to read it here. We will continue to update our policies in accordance with the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and local and state-wide health guidelines.
Flu Shot Requirement
To ensure the continued safety of all children at the WYC, beginning October 5, we require that all children receive a flu shot within 14 days of enrollment in any of our programs. We will need documentation from a doctor’s office or another provider that the shot has been given to the child this season. Please reach out with any questions about this new requirement.
