We offer divisions from kindergarten up to 8th grade. Players in grades kindergarten through 2nd grade participate in a co-ed program focused on learning basic basketball skills and terminology. Players in grades 3 through 8 play a full schedule of games in divisions grouped by grade and gender.

In-House and Travel Leagues

**All players who play in the travel league must also participate in the in-house league**

The core WYC basketball league for players in grades 3 through 6 is the In-House League. All teams are made up of players from Lanesborough and/or Williamstown. All games are played amongst teams from the league. There are usually 4 teams in each division. All players are welcomed regardless of skill level.

The Travel League is for players in grades 3 through 8. Each division has one travel team. These teams play other teams throughout Berkshire County. Because space is limited on each team, players must tryout to earn a place on their division’s travel team.

Skills Assessments and Tryouts

For the In-House League, there will be a skills assessment session for each division at the beginning of November. Every player will get placed on a team. The sessions are led by various volunteer league coaches and recreation staff. This session is not a tryout. The assessment session helps us to even out teams according to players’ skills and experience. Balanced teams make for a fun and challenging season for everyone.

Coaches Needed

Volunteer coaches and assistant coaches are needed each year for our teams. The basketball program has about 23 teams and it wouldn’t be successful without the dedication, knowledge, and time given to the program by all of our amazing volunteers. If you are interested in coaching, please call our office at 413.458.5925 or email Mike Williams at mike@williamstownyouthcenter.org.
