The Williamstown Youth Center’s in-house basketball program returns with ten weeks of fun and excitement that will keep your child moving. Our program emphasizes movement with lots of touches in a fun, energetic environment.
Fun, sportsmanship, fundamental movement, and gross motor skills are emphasized. There are no evaluations or formal games for this division. Players develop their basketball skills using age-appropriate basketballs with hoops set at heights recommended by USA Basketball. Kindergarteners play once on the weekend; first and second graders play one weekday and weekend day.

Assistant coaches are needed for all grades at this level. No coaching or basketball experience is required. The more volunteers we have, the more the players move with the basketball and have the greatest opportunity to work on their individual ball-handling. Kids at this age love to see their parents on the court with them! If you are interested in helping out during your child’s session, please email both Mikaela at mikaela@williamstownyouthcenter.org and Rob at roberthnatonko@gmail.com.
Grades 3 and 4 combined will play a 3–versus–3 game format. Teams of 3 to 5 players will practice together and play each other in twice-weekly sessions. Sessions will be scheduled at WES and MGRS on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Additional games and practices will take place in the WYC gym, with some games played against Lanesborough teams in their gym.
