Skiing and Snowboarding at Jiminy Peak

Skiing and snowboarding happen at Jiminy Peak every winter in January and February. The program includes six Wednesdays of ski or snowboard lessons and free ski time, with a bonus day of just free ski and board time. There are options for just purchasing a lift ticket, a lift ticket with lessons, a lift ticket with lessons and equipment rentals, or just lessons. There are four levels of lessons, from never been on snow before, to advanced turning and speed control on more difficult trails.

The program is open to 1st graders through 6th graders.

Lessons start at 4pm each Wednesday. Lesson participants MUST be at the meeting spots fifteen minutes before the lesson start time (i.e. 3:45 for a 4pm lesson). All participants taking lessons must be present the first week the program is in session. This is necessary to establish the class groupings for the remainder

of the program.

Lesson key:
Red = I’ve never done this before
Yellow = I’ve been out a few times
Green = I stay on easier slopes
Blue = I’m doing some steeps

Register with the WYC to receive login access to Jiminy’s website and steep discounts on lift tickets and lessons. You will receive the access code in a confirmation email. Use this information to log in and order your lift ticket, lesson package, and rentals.

A reminder that the WYC does not provide transportation to the mountain.

Daily Schedule:

3:30pm Everyone will meet at JJ's Lodge at Jiminy Peak by 3:30pm to get ready for lessons. Julia will be outside by the firepit with her clipboard. Families can use the cubbies inside JJ's to store bags. Bathrooms are located on the lower level. Kids renting equipment should head to the rental shop and then go to JJ's.

3:45pm All kids will meet outside by the ski racks/fire pit, ready to join their lesson groups. We will then head up the hill to meet instructors. Jiminy has colored flags marking the different level groups; chaperones will help identify the different levels and usher kids in the right direction. All ski/snowboard instructors will be in green and black jackets.

4-5pm Group lessons (Parents and chaperones can ski/snowboard during this time)

4:50pm Chaperones gather in front of JJ's Lodge to collect kids as they complete their lessons. All children must have an adult or group to ski with after lessons are over.

5-6:30pm Free ski

6:30pm Group departure from Jiminy. Kids will return to Williamstown with the same driver who brought them unless other arrangements have been made. Julia will stay until 6:30 to make sure everyone has left or has a ride home.

If you are interested in chaperoning, please send Julia an email at julia@williamstownyouthcenter.org. All chaperones receive a free Wednesday ski pass and are asked to help get children to lessons, enforce Jiminy’s rules, and ensure children are all skiing with appropriate supervision.

Registration Closed

The last day to register is Monday, December 5.
