Skiing and snowboarding happen at Jiminy Peak every winter in January and February. Register with WYC to receive login access to Jiminy’s website for steep discounts on lift tickets and lessons. After registration, you will receive a confirmation email with login credentials to then order through Jiminy. WYC does not provide transportation to the mountain. Individual families are responsible for this.
The program is open to 1st through 6th graders. It includes six Wednesdays of ski or snowboard lessons and free ski and board time, with a bonus seventh day of just free ski and board time. There are options for purchasing a lift ticket, a lift ticket with lessons, a lift ticket with lessons and equipment rentals, or (if your child already has a season pass) just lessons. There are four levels of lessons for all experience levels, for those who have never been on snow before to others looking for advanced turning and speed control on more difficult trails, and those in between.
Pricing
(Please note: Below prices exclude the $40 registration fee that everyone pays upon signing up and goes directly to the youth center.)
Lift pass only: $225
Lift pass with lessons: $345
Lessons only, but you MUST have a season's pass paid for separately to participate: $150
7-week equipment rental: $125
Lessons start at 4:00 pm each Wednesday. Lesson participants MUST be at the meeting spots fifteen minutes before the lesson start time (3:45 pm). All participants taking lessons MUST be present at the first lesson of the program (January 8, 2025) because it is necessary to establish the class groupings for the remainder of the program. This first day, plan to arrive extra early if your child is renting equipment, in case they need to try on multiple sizes; however, moving forward, their equipment will be set aside for them, making check-in smoother for the remaining lessons.
Lesson Key
Red = I’ve never done this before

Blue = I’m doing some steeps
Each Wednesday, free ski/board time is for 4.5 hours, beginning at the individual's start time with their lift ticket. (Please note, Jiminy Peak closes at 10:00 pm.)

Daily Schedule:
3:30 pm Everyone will meet at JJ's Lodge at Jiminy Peak by 3:30 pm (or earlier) to get ready for lessons. Bathrooms are located on the lower level. Kids renting equipment should head to the rental shop before going to JJ's.
3:45 pm All kids will meet outside by the ski racks/fire pit, ready to join their lesson groups. We will then head up the hill to meet instructors. Jiminy has colored flags marking the different level groups; chaperones will help identify the different levels and usher kids in the right direction. All ski/snowboard instructors will be in green and black jackets.
4:00–5:00 pm Group lessons. Kids stay with their instructor for the full hour of the lesson since instructors cannot dismiss a kid without accompanying them or leave the group. Parents and chaperones can ski/snowboard during this time.
4:50 pm Chaperones gather in front of JJ's Lodge to collect kids as they complete their lessons. All children must have an adult or group to ski with after lessons are over.
Free ski/board time: Start and end times will vary based on the time the lift ticket is first used for the day, and will expire after 4.5 hours.
Departure from Jiminy: Kids must depart with the same driver who brought them unless other arrangements have been made.
If you are interested in chaperoning, please send Miriah an email at miriah@williamstownyouthcenter.org. All chaperones receive a free Wednesday ski pass and are asked to help get children to lessons, enforce Jiminy’s rules, and ensure children are all skiing with appropriate supervision.
The last day to register is Friday, December 13, 2024.
